It’s a good idea to consider the following points before submitting a paper to a conference:
- Is the conference you’re considering well regarded in your discipline? You could check with your peers and mentors.
- Will the conference papers be peer reviewed?
- Will the papers be published in full or only the abstract?
- Are past conference papers indexed in databases?
- Web of Science (Document Type > Proceedings, Paper)
- Scopus (Document Type > Conference Paper)
- IEEE Explore (Conferences)
Use the checklist at Think. Check. Attend. to assess whether a conference is trusted.
