Endnote should never ask you for a product key during installation. This problem occurs when the installation file is run without the License.dat file being present in the same folder or running the application from the .zip archive.

To avoid this, always fully extract the contents of the .zip file to a folder and run the application from there. There should always be two files in the folder: the installation file and the License.dat file.

The EndNote guide contains installation instructions for all current versions of EndNote. Click on the Get Endnote tab for detailed instructions.

If you are trying to install Endnote on a managed computer, you might not have the permissions to do so and will need to contact IMTS.
