There are a variety of ways to locate concept or topic definitions.
Begin by looking at the reading list and/or recommended readings for your subject and see if any of those include a statement that defines the concept or topic area.
You could also try searching for keywords or phrases in online dictionaries and encyclopedias.
Alternatively, try searching for your keywords or phrases with the addition of the term encyclopedia or dictionary, for example:
Search 1 =
"contemporary classroom" AND encyclopedia
Search 2 =
"contemporary classroom" AND dictionary
This last search should locate more specialised dictionaries or encyclopedias (you may also want to narrow by date so you restrict your search to material from the past 5 - 8 years).
If you require further help with your search strategies you can have a Drop-In-Consultation with a Librarian, there is no need to book a consultation, simply come to the Library Service desk Monday- Friday 9am- 5pm.
