The Makerspace will be accessible for all staff and students of the University and will contain a wide array of tools and technology available for use. Some of the equipment on offer will be - Me3D Printers; RaspberryPi's; Arduino Kits; Robotic Kits; Sewing machine and much more.
Along with the Makerspace aspect, there will also be a Mediaspace that will allow users to produce and edit digital video/audio assets within the space. We have also planned a VR Zone that will be available for everyone to engage with and/or develop for HTC Vive, Oculus Rift and Microsoft Hololens.
We are currently working with a student club called UOW Makerspace, formed especially to help the library team identify equipment to purchase but also help establish rules and guidelines on how the space could run, eventually becoming users of the space and helping promote it throughout the University.
