What do the buttons do on a Windows mouse?
Answer
There are many different buttons on a Windows mouse performing different functions. On a Windows mouse the left button is able to open files or programs, select and highlight, and drag-and-drop. The right button allows for performing further functions once an item is selected; most commonly, the copy and paste functions.
Other buttons are the scroll wheel, which moves vertically up and down a page, and side buttons, which can be programmed to perform specific functions. (Note that not all mice have the side buttons).
A full description of the functions on a Windows mouse can be found in the Different Buttons on a Computer Mouse resource.
