The ‘cloud’ is a metaphor for using information or programs via the internet.

Cloud computing uses the internet to provide access to programs and information. Cloud computing has the benefits of greater accessibility, collaboration, storage and version control. Office 365 is an example of cloud computing that is commonly used at UOW, and gives you access to email, office software, and storage via the internet.

For more information on the benefits of using the cloud see the Digital Skills Hub's cloud computing resource.
