If you have not started inserting references into Word:

From EndNote:

  1. Go to Library
  2. From the drop down list select Find duplicates and you will have the option to remove them. 

 

If you have already start inserting references into Word, you will need to take care to not delete the incorrect record number. 


From the EndNote toolbar in Word:

  • Select Convert Citations and Bibliography > Convert to unformatted citations. This will display the record number, e.g. {Gore, 2018 #9} 

From Endnote:

  • Select References > Find Duplicates, make sure to keep the record with the number that matches your in-text references. In this example, you would keep #9 and delete #8:
