Use the "Edit and Manage Citation(s)" option from the EndNote toolbar in Word to insert citations, edit in-text references (e.g. add page numbers) and remove references.

All the citations and references in your Word document are coming from your EndNote library. If you need to correct a typo or spelling mistake in your references, make the changes to the reference in your EndNote library. To apply the changes, return to Word and click on "Update Citations and Bibliography" in the EndNote toolbar.

Do not use the Word functions to make the changes. Your changes will not be saved and any deleted or edited references may come back.

Also see the EndNote Help page for more information and access to the EndNote workbook.
