You may connect wired headphones and wireless headphones via Bluetooth to Library computers.
Connecting Wireless Headphones (Bluetooth) to Library computers:
- Turn on the wireless headphones and put them into 'pairing mode'.
- Once the headphones are ready to pair, open the desktop computer settings:
- Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Devices > Add devices.
- In the 'Add device' window, choose Bluetooth, then select your headphones from the list.
- Once connected, check the connection by clicking on the volume icon (bottom-right of the screen) to ensure sound is playing through your headphones.
Connecting Wired Headphones:
- Plug your headphones into the headphones port located on the side of the monitor.
- A pop-up may appear asking you to select which device you have plugged in.
- Select ‘headphones’ and click ‘ok’
- To adjust volume, click the sound icon on the right-hand side of the Taskbar (bottom-right corner).
If there is no pop-up or sound is playing through monitor speakers try the following:
- Open the Control Panel by searching in the start menu on your computer, then select:
- ‘Hardware and Sound’ > ‘Sound’.
- From here, you can manage audio devices and adjust volume settings.
If you are experiencing issues, and are unable to get the sound to work on your computer:
- Try restarting the computer.
- See the following FAQ: Why doesn't this library computer play sound?
- If you experience further issues connecting your headphones to the computer, you may contact the IT Service Desk on 4221 3000 or join IT Services’ Live Chat, which is available to UOW students and staff from 8am to 10pm, Mon-Fri and 10am-8pm Sat-Sun during Session.
