OERs are openly accessible resources, explicitly licensed for re-use.
The most common type of license applied to OER is Creative Commons. This provides standardised and clearly worded permissions regarding an OERs conditions of use (e.g., re-use or adapt).
Being available under an open license means OERs are free of many copyright restrictions and can be used in flexible ways to support your teaching and learning needs.
For more information on user access and licensing, please refer to our Ebook licenses and user models guide.
