If you encounter problems when accessing electronic resources from the Library, this can often be resolved with a simple solution like clearing your browser's cache.
Please follow these troubleshooting tips:
- The first step when encountering issues accessing a resource is to clear your cache. Browsers often save outdated information, which is the most common cause of error messages in browsers.
If you need help on clearing your cache, see instructions for PC or Mac.
- Now that you have cleared your cache, close your browser and try accessing the resource again.
- If clearing your cache didn’t work, ensure you are using Library Search or the Library A-Z Database list to access the resource. Links that are stored in other sites like Moodle, or your favourites bar, may be out of date.
- Start here if you are trying to access a Library Database
- If it is a journal article, book chapter or ebook, search in Library Search
- Sometimes outages occur which can cause access issues. You can check for known outages in the notes of the resource in Library Search or the A-Z Databases list. An example of this can be seen in the screenshot below:
- If the issue is still occurring after clearing your cache and you are accessing the library resource from Library Search or the A-Z Database list, contact the library.
Please provide the exact steps you took to get the error and include a screenshot. The more information you can provide us, the quicker we can resolve your access issue.
- For future use of Library resources, we recommend installing LibKey Nomad in your browser. Find more information on our guide.
