What is the difference between proofreading and editing?

Answer

Editing is the process of closely re-reading and re-writing your assessment to improve the clarity, expression and structure of your writing.

Proofreading is the final process of review to find overlooked mistakes such as spelling, grammar and punctuation. It does not necessarily aim to improve the argument or purpose of your writing.
