Generative AI tools allow you to generate content on a particular topic. A popular example of a generative AI is ChatGPT.
UOW has updated its guidance on using AI (including ChatGPT) in academic work, and it is important to understand your responsibilities in relation to the use of these tools and academic integrity practices at UOW.
The Digital Skills Hub has a section on Generative AI & ChatGPT that helps you understand how generative AI tools work, and how to use them well.
Formal guidelines on referencing the use of AI tools are still in development. In the interim, refer to the Software and Apps section of your referencing guide (the linked example is for Harvard, but there is similar information in referencing guides for other styles) and check with your lecturer to confirm their position on using AI tools.
