Standard files that are downloaded from the SAI Global i2i platform are DRM protected PDFs, which can only be opened and viewed by using a supported PDF reader, e.g. Adobe Acrobat Reader and "Global Object Security Policy (GOSP)” feature disabled.
The Global Object Security Policy (GOSP) is a setting in many supported PDF readers, for example, Adobe Reader, Acrobat and PDF-XChange apps; which controls how cookies behave. The default setting is “enable global object security policy” which means that every time someone renames a file or moves a file to a different location, a different cookie is created each time.
Since DRM protected content relies on these cookies to track the number of ‘devices’ that a user opens the protected PDF, you will be required to disable this feature to open and view DRM protected PDFs.
Disabling the “global object security policy” does NO HARM to a user’s computer. It is simply a mechanism to create a single tracking ID (or cookie) on the computer, no different than how a browser session tracks cookies as well.
Please see also Why can’t I open and view the standards on SAI Global i2i?
Further information on how we can disable Global Object Security Policy (GOSP) within different PDF reader apps.
