From 1st Feb 2025, access to EBSCOhost databases and MyEBSCO Accounts are now authenticated via Single Sign-On (SSO). This means, you are signing into your MyEBSCO Account using your UOW credentials and accessing EBSCOhost databases at the same time.

The MyEBSCO Account created when you first used the EBSCOhost Databases via Single Sign-On, is a brand-new EBSCO personal account. To ensure seamless and fast access to all your existing saved searches and items, your previously created MyEBSCO Accounts must bee merged into this new SSO MyEBSCO Account.

Please scroll to the "To Merged Accounts" section of this page and follow the steps to complete the account merged as soon as you can.

IMPORTANT: After 31st May 2025, you won’t be able to access any MyEBSCO Account created before 1st Feb 2025.

To Merged Accounts:

  1. Sign into EBSCO databases from Library SEARCH or the Library A-Z Database list; or directly sign in to the database Education Research Complete (EBSCOhost).
  2. On the database search interface, select “Update My Account” from the top right corner.
  3. You will now see the account information on your newly created MyEBSCO Account. This account has Affiliations – University of Wollongong.
  4. To merge your MyEBSCO Account that was previously created into this new MyEBSCO Account, please scroll down to the “Merged Account” section, and select “Get Started”.
  5. Select “Sign into your second account” button from the following screen, then sign into your previous account by entering your account credentials.
  6. Please note: entering the correct sign in credentials is critical to the account merge process. If you can’t sign in, please try to reset your sign in credentials by clicking on “Forgot your Password?” and follow the prompts. If you have trouble with resetting your account password, please contact us by email (lib-erm@uow.edu.au) with your full name, UOW email address and your MyEBSCO Account information.
  7. After signing in to your second account, a “Merge accounts” page with information from you two accounts is presented.  See the following example; it shows 300 saved articles from the "Secondary account" will be merged into the current account (the account created via SSO sign in).
  8. Select “Merge account” and follow the prompts to complete the process.
  9. When you are presented with the following screen, you have completed the account merge process.
Your EBSCO account that was created previously will be deleted after the merge is completed by EBSCO system. All saved items/records will be moved into the newly created account. You will be notified by email from noreplyaccount@ebsco.com when the account merge is completed.
  10. You can close the browser tab and return to the EBSCO database search interface. You may not see the saved articles and items straight away.

IMPORTANT: Once you have successfully merged your accounts, please sign back into an EBSCO database and click on the “Folder” icon to review your saved items. This is especially important if you currently use My Custom folders in your MyEBSCO Account, as from the 31st of May 2025, EBSCO are removing custom folders from MyEBSCO accounts.

Please follow these steps on reviewing your saved items in your MyEBSCO account.
